Carvers: Abel Davis
There are two Eastern Cemetery stone carvings attributed to Abel Davis (1798–?). He worked in the Bartlett Adams shop in Portland, for a short time before returning to Massachusetts.
A list is below. The names are linked to the image on Flickr if available.
- Nathaniel Hovey, died 1821, plot I-162, slate stone with urn and willow, double sewn border (photo on Find a Grave)
- Benjamin Larrabee, died 1809, plot C-147, rectangular slate stone with urn and willow with a wavy border
- Nancy Dennison, died 1820, plot K-112, slate stone with urn (monstrance?) and willow, fanciful wavy border, displays his unique style of 2's. (photo above)
